Mozart began this mass as a promise. Written without a commission from patrons, Mozart created this piece as a mass of thanksgiving for his marriage and the prospective arrival of his first child.

Unlike Mozart’s other compositions, this Great Mass in C minor was to be performed on a large scale, including choruses with five and even eight voice parts.  The lavish double-chorus, double-orchestra feast is one of Mozart’s most remarkable compositions

Nancy Callahan, Music Director ♦ Dale Williams, Accompanist
    with orchestra and professional soloists

    No tickets required.  Free-will offering
